Ekiti assembly member, Ayorinde, empowers constituents, reiterates proper representation

No fewer than 500 residents of five wards Ido/Osi 2 constituency in Ekiti state have benefitted from the empowerment program of Yomi Ayorinde as part of his constituency engagement and town hall meeting. 

The house of assembly member, who represents Ido/Osi Constituency 2 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, appreciated his constituents for their continued support and, by extension, to Governor Biodun Oyebanji. 

He highlighted some achievements of the Oyebanji-led government to include implementation of the new minimum wage, reconstruction of Ado-Ifaki road,  RAAMP projects, and renovation of health facilities, among several others.

He also listed numerous life changing legislation that the 7th Assembly has passed. 

The assembly member offered explanations on the issue of water shortage and how it is being addressed, assuring them of the good intentions of government. 

The scheme, which was launched at his constitiency headquarters at Usi-Ekiti on Friday, with some beneficiaries, including opinion leaders, vulnerable groups, and party executives. 

Some of the beneficiaries showered encomium on the assembly member for counting them worthy and hailed the kind gesture. 

Ayorinde distributed items including, rice of different sizes, honeywell boxes, fertiliser and branded exercise books. The combined value of items and cash is well over five million. (5m)

Mr oyeniyi Adebayo, Ekiti state Commissioner for Budget, Economic Matters and Performance Management, used the occasion to express appreciation for support the Oyebanji-led government is receiving from the constituency. 

He assured the people, particularly Osi and Ilogbo residents that Ilogbo-Osi-Esure-Epe road is well captured in the RAAMP second Phase and extoled the quality of Ayorinde as a worthy representative. 

Addressing the beneficiaries, Messrs Gbenga Agbeyo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Human Capital and documentation and Akin Oso, former member of house of assembly, urged Ayorinde to continue his kind gesture by contributing to the growth of his constituents.

The current and former chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government Area, messrs Dele Omoleye and Lawrence Ayodimeji, thanked God for what the assembly man has done for the people of his constituency. 

“He promised during the campaign and fulfilled it that his projects will cut across the five wards, a combination of several communities, and with this as the fourth edition, he is fulfilling his promises, we appreciate honourable Ayorinde,”

In the same vein, some of the leaders and other stakeholders praised Ayorinde for regular interface with constituents and acknowledged the giant stride of Gov Biodun Oyebanji, expressing appreciation for continuing support of the governor.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the high point of the event was consensus that the governor is doing well and have their support for another term of 4 years.

While appreciating the gesture of the assembly member, notable leaders, including Babatunde Odetola and Femi Robinson, said, ”I can say that we have hit the ground running and God has been our ever-present guide as we work to translate our vision into practical, measurable and impactful forms.

“This engagement/ empowerment has become a regular event in our constituency since Ayorinde came on board and  what you witnessed today is what you sent him to go and do at the House of Assembly, it is called quality representation.

He also expressed delight at the quality of legislation coming out of the 7th Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon.Aribasoye.
