
The Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Chief Samuel Abejide, has commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of local government workers, particularly through the prompt release of funds for their training and retraining.
Chief Abejide, represented by the Commissioner in charge of Information and Civic Orientation, Mr. Wole Olujobi, gave the commendation on Wednesday while declaring open a two-day capacity-building workshop for Directors and Deputy Directors in the Departments of Information and Community Development.
He described the training as a reflection of Governor Oyebanji’s resolve to enhance the skills and efficiency of the local government workforce, thereby ensuring improved service delivery at the grassroots.
He further encouraged participants to remain committed, professional, and proactive in their roles to sustain the momentum of development at the local level.
In his remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration in charge of Training, Barrister Emmanuel Agbola, urged the officers to take full advantage of the workshop and engage with new ideas that will sharpen their innovative capacity in public administration.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, the Acting Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Information Officers, Mr. Osalade Festus, appreciated the Commission for organizing the workshop and acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in building capacity.
The workshop, themed “Culture and Information System in the Local Government Service,” brought together participants from all 16 Local Government Areas and 19 Local Council Development Areas across the state.
The programme is expected to significantly boost the morale of participants and enhance their effectiveness in their respective roles.
