The attention of the Ekiti State Chapter of Afenifere, led by Elder Jonathan Yemi Alade (Chairman) and Chief Mrs. Ronke Okusanya (Secretary), has been drawn to a malicious and fraudulent claim by a group purporting to be members and leaders of Afenifere.
This group, led by one Olayemi Olajuyinmi, described as a jobless individual falsely presenting himself as a doctor and pastor with no fixed address has been claiming membership and leadership of Afenifere.
Afenifere Ekiti State Chapter wishes to state categorically that it disassociates itself from this group of political opportunists and charlatans. They are not members of Afenifere, nor do they have any authority to speak on its behalf. Their claims are baseless, and their actions are a clear attempt to hijack the good name of Afenifere for selfish and pecuniary interests.
Statement by the State Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae says, the
group in question is not recognized by Afenifere Ekiti State Chapter.
“They are not listed in our register, and their claims of membership and leadership are false. Their actions are a blatant attempt to ride on the reputation and goodwill of Afenifere”. The statement read.
Afenifere Ekiti State Chapter reaffirms that it remains firmly rooted in its philosophy and principles. The Chapter is affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and unequivocally supports the candidacy of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
“It has no relationship with any other political party, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which appears to be the platform these impostors are using to perpetuate their deceit”.
The public is urged to disregard the claims of this fake group and note that Afenifere Ekiti State Chapter will not be swayed by the antics of these political opportunists.
Stressing that the Chapter will continue to uphold its principles and values, and will not compromise its integrity for any reason.
