Workers at the ministry of Local Government Affairs have been advised to always live a meaningful and impactful life that will positively affect humanity where ever they find themselves.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs Hon. Folorunso Olabode gave this charge at a surprised birthday package organized for him by members of staff in his office in Ado Ekiti recently.
Speaking at the event, the Celebrant who gave glory to God for adding another year to his age described himself as an introvert being a child of a Cleric. According to him, God created every individual for a purpose, especially to assist one another in any way, and he is always being guided by the word of God.
Hon.Olabode emphasised that everything in life is vanity but one would always be remembered by what he has done, disclosing further that his upbringing has really shaped his life’s journey which is “being guided and fulfilled”
The Commissioner explained that he always imitates the State Governor, Mr.Biodun Oyebanji with the mind to make things better for greater achievements .
He appreciated everyone that has come to grace the impromptu occasion as he promised not to relent in his service to humanity especially in his passion for the grassroot development.
Earlier in her remarks, a member of the State House of Assembly, Ilejemeje Constituency, Hon. Iyabo Fakunle-Okiemen described the Commissioner who happens to come from her town as someone having a kindred spirit, referring to him as a Community man per excellence.
She commended his role as a big brother with a shoulder to lean on, an encourager, role model to the younger ones, supportive and a good coordinator who does not despise anyone.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,Mr. Babatunde Olaoye who also commended the Celebrant for being a good boss and a blessing to the entire Ministry, took his comment from the biblical passage that says “teach us to number our days” and prayed that God will satisfy him with long life and goodness.
The Chairman Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Ekiti Chapter Hon.Oluwasegun Ojo in his speech said that it is by God’s special grace that one could grow old in this wicked world. He described the Commissioner as a brilliant, legal ICON with his catalytic ways of presenting issues and solution when they are at crossroad.
He commended his commitment and dedication to grassroot development, referring to him as an embodiment of simplicity and humility.
The Special Adviser on State Capital Development Authority Hon Tade Aluko, The Local Government Executive Secretaries ,Mr Taiwo Adeojo and Mr Bola Babalola in their comments referred to the Commissioner as a man of the people whose involvement in this present administration is a blessing to Mr Governor for having such a pleasant personality behind him. They prayed for divine upliftment to showcase more of his good tidings.
Highpoint of the event was cutting of the cake , presentation of gifts and rendition of celebration songs with the attendance of some other dignitaries.
