Court Convicts Seven Persons For Flouting Environmental Laws In Ekiti

No fewer than seven people were convicted by a Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti for flouting Ekiti State environmental laws.

The offenders, who were tried on Wednesday were found guilty of breaching the environmental laws and were made to pay fines of N7,000 each or sentence to imprisonment.

The defaulters were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday by officers of the Ekiti State Waste Management Agency at NTA Road in Ado-Ekiti. 

They were subsequently charged to the Magistrate Court for violating the state’s environmental laws for indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the median 

Those charged by Magistrate Saka Olajuwon Afunsho are; Areo Kolawole, Toba Omolayo, Owolawi Bosede, Ademola Yusuf, Familayo Ajayi, Oluleye Abayomi and Ayodeji Kemi, four males and three females.
