The lawmaker representing Ekiti East Constituency 1 and the Minority Leader of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Hon. Oladele Ogunsakin has given out bursary awards to One hundred Students of Ekiti East Constituency 1.
The scheme which was first of its kind in the political history of Ekiti East Constituency 1 was borne out of the lawmaker’s passion for Education and his commitment to the well being of the people of Ekiti-East constituency 1.
Unveiling the first tranche of the bursary scheme in which 100 students across the five wards in Ekiti-East constituency 1 benefited, the Lawmaker assured the Students of regular engagements and financial support for the indigent ones in the Constituency.According to the Lawmaker, Hon.Ogunsakin, “this bursary scheme would be a regular and continuous exercise for the students and I will kickstart the second tranche by December 2024. This will suffice as a necessary support for students in the face of the current economic situation in the Country and I want them to see the opportunity as a rare privilege. I also wish to urge the beneficiaries to make the best use of the money to cushion the effects of the economic realities which may pose immediate dangers to their academic pursuits” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Caretaker Chairman of Omuo Students Union, Comrade Jayeoba Temitayo Raphael and the Caretaker Secretary Comrade Akanle Adeleke Emmanuel thanked Hon Oladele Ogunsakin for the intervention and described the scheme as giant stride that will go a long way in solving some of the financial problems confronting the students at this time of economic hardship in Nigeria.
President, Federation of Isinbode Students Union, Comrade Ajayi Adesua and the Secretary Comrade Adefemi Feranmi also expressed their gratitude to the Minority Leader of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Oladele Ogunsakin for the bursary award given to the Students,describing the gesture as a testament to his commitment to the development and well being of the students in his Constituency.“We shall continually be grateful to our Lawmaker, Hon. Ogunsakin and this bursary award would serve as succour to the Students and their families, it will enable us to be academically focused with less burden of financial obligations and as well motivate us to strive for excellence in our Academic pursuits”
