The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has expressed shock at the news of death of the Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC in Ekiti State, Bar. Paul Omotosho.
Aribasoye, in a press statement said it was a devastating news to him and an unbelievable occurrence that Barr Omotosho’s mature leadership of the party could be put to an end abruptly by this unexpected death.
“It’s a most depressive news coming to me on a Wednesday morning. This has dimmed the excitement of the moment. It’s a big blow to our party, APC, Ekiti State and to me as a person. The entire 7th Assembly is also disturbed and depressed to hear this”
Rt. Hon Aribasoye who took retrospection on his relationship with the late Omotosho prayed that God would grant the Omotosho family, APC and the State in general , the fortitude to bear this monumental loss.
” my personal relationship with him dated back to the 2007 struggle to reclaim Dr Kayode Fayemi’s governorship mandate in court. We enjoyed a close and cordial relationship of trust to the extent of entrusting some of the party matters to me.” The speaker recalled.
He noted that applaudable feats were recorded under the leadership of the late party chairman, adding that it was an excellent development that the party succeeded itself in the last governorship election in the state thereby setting a new record.
“Barr. Omotosho was a party man to the core, a peacemaker, a rooted mobilizer and a man well versed about the workings and running of the Ekiti APC. Under his leadership, the party made history in the state, producing two successive governors and breaking the single tenure jinx. He will be sincerely missed” Aribasoye stated.
