Ex- Lawmaker, Hon Oluyemi Aladejebi Urges FG, National Assembly To Expedite Action on State Police Creation Bill, 

—— Commends President Tinubu On National Development Programmes,

A former member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Oluyemi Aladejebi has urged the National Assembly to expedite action on the State Police bill by  given necessary attention to the State Police creation bill in order to curb the incessant insecurity in the country.

Aladejebi while speaking on the issues concerning national development in Nigeria at his home town in Ikere Ekiti recently said, few weeks ago, he sent a video message to President Tinubu On National issues, specifically, issues relating to State Police which he said, is presently recieving necessary attention from the Federal Government.

While admitting that there are great development under the present administration, Honourable Aladejebi noted that there are some sore areas under this present administration he cannot but mentioned.

 Apart from the problem of insecurity, the lawmaker noted that the electricity issue remains a serious matter that needs immediate attention. 

 He said in Nigeria today, the issue of power supply has been a permanent worry for every Nigerian, noting that even if he cannot speak on behalf of other parts of the country on the issue of power supply, what is happening in his state, specifically, his home town Ikere Ekiti is nothing to write home about.

Aladejebi noted that there might be areas where power supply is stable but generally the situation is pathetic and has great adverse effects on the economy. He however prayed that one day, the Federal Government will break this terrible jinx. 

On the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, Aladeyebi noted that the creation of state police which has been of great concern to him will go a long way in finding permanent solution to insecurity problem if the National Assembly  can expedite action on the bill. 

The former lawmaker commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his wonderful  contributions to infrastructural  development in the country since his inception as the President  of the country in 2023.

Speaking further, Aladejebi said the President has done well in many areas, not just concentrating on issues that are of interest to his personal needs. Citing major examples, Aladejebi said the road networks in the country has greatly improved, qiving assess to free and conducive movement of the people and goods within the country.

He said the roads connecting many parts of Nigeria now are fantastic, giving a notch to the minister of transportation and the Federal Government. 

The former law maker noted that the road connecting Akure – Ikere –  Ado which normally takes over an hour before has been drastically reduced to twenty five minutes because one side of the dual carriage has been completed.

He noted that, just like the Akure- Ikere- Ado road, other parts of the country are enjoying similar grace, while pointing out Lagos to Calaber and Lagos to Sokoto roads as typical examples of Tinubu’s legacy projects. 

Aladejebi also said that in the area of health, the Federal Government has made a landmark impact that worth to be commended. He said the primary healthcare programme has helped to reduce mortality cases drastically in the country while also appreciating the Federal Government for the production of vaccines to tackle diseases in the country.

In the educational sector, the lawmaker pointed out that the ministry of Education has made an outstanding improvement under the present administration. He posited that what we are seeing in the education sector has never happened before in the history of Nigeria. 

The stability in the Nigeria Universities according to the lawmaker through the agreement between the Federal Government and ASUU has made the union to calm down and ensure quality educational system in the country. He stated further that the loan facilities for students is another milestone achievement which can never be brushed aside.

Aladejebi stated further that, the story of the ministry of Interior is a wonderful one. According to him, you can now get your international passport within a week after applying unlike before when it was a rigorous exercise that can span months or years before collection.

 He also acknowledged the great improvement in the Federal Capital Territory which according to him, is a good testament of good governance under President Bola Tinubu.

The former lawmaker thereby appeal to the president and the National Assembly to give those gray areas in his government rapt attention to enhance safety of lives and properties in the country and also to give the deserved credibility to his government.
