Itapa-Ekiti Chief Priest, Temitope Ajayi Lauds State Govt, Other Stakeholders Over Prevailing Justice

The authentic Chief Priest of Itapa Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Chief Temitope Ajayi, the Apeye oko joogun 2, has appreciated Ekiti state government and stakeholders for amicably resolved the chief priest tussle in Itapa Ekiti.

Apeye oko joogun 2, in a statement on Wednesday said the issue has been resolved in his favour by relevant authority. He appreciated the state government, the Ekiti State Awo -in Council led by Chief Faleye Ayodele, and the good people of Itapa Ekiti for ensuring that the tradition wasn’t undermined.

The statement reads,”I am grateful that issues surrounding Olori Awo of Itapa Ekiti has been resolved in my favour. I sincerely appreciate the Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye for the timely reconsideration.

“I appreciate the enormous interventions of Ekiti- State Awo -in – Council, led by Chief Faleye Ayodele, Oye Local Government Council of Obas, Owatapa, Oba David Makanjuola Ajaja and his chiefs, Members of Awo- in -Council in Itapa Ekiti and Oye Local Government.

“Also, I appreciate all members of Egbe Quarters, sons and daughters of Itapa Ekiti, home and abroad for their unflinching support during the struggle”

The Chief Priest said, he would be an ingrate if he fails to acknowledge the efforts of the stakeholders during the crisis. Stressing that he would continue to work hard for the peace and advancement of Itapa Ekiti in particular and Ekiti state at large to justify the confidence reposed in him.

Recall that last week, the Deputy Governor ordered the reinstatement of Chief Kehinde Osanyingbemi whose installation contravened the tradition as the Chief Priest of Itapa Ekiti.

The reinstatement order generated criticism from the concerned stakeholders and urged government to steer clear of traditional matters.
