Not Breaking up Nigeria Now is Just Postponing Evil Day– Dr Adebayo Orire

…….. says his late mother lived a beautiful life

A seasoned medical practitioner and renowned politician in Ekiti State, Dr. Adebayo Orire has affirmed that the inability of our leaders to synchronise all the regions in the country and get the best out of it has made Nigeria a failed nation, therefore, break up will be the best alternative to end marginalization and other vices that engulfed  the nation presently.

Speaking to journalists at the burial ceremony of his mother, late Dorcas Adekunbi Orire in Ikoro Ekiti, Ekiti State over the weekend, the medical expert posited that breaking up Nigeria will be a necessary panacea to all the banditry, insecurity, embezzlement, marginalization and other wrong doings going on that is not making Nigeria to grow and be productive.

He said, “a nation like Nigeria cannot go on it must break up. Either it prosper, expands, and flourishes, or either is degrading, dispersing, self destructing it must break up. If you prosper you will expand and multiplied but Nigeria is not even growing, Nigeria is not even sustaining itself. So, when you are not sustaining yourself and you are a dry bone like Nigeria, you break into pieces and that is what is going to happen.”

Dr Orire asserted further that the only way we can move the country forward without killing ourselves is to separate. Justifying his position, the medical icon said, “the Biafra people want to go, IPOB is wanting to break, Yoruba is wanting to break, the middle belt is agitating, the Hausa people, either as Hausa or Arewa they want to break, so there is no way you look at it that they will not break.

“Everybody is either Yoruba, Hausa Fulani and Ibo before he is a Nigerian and we have not been able to synchronise ourselves, we have not been able to unite in the past 100 years, So, why are we forcing ourselves, why are we actually acting like dumps?. There is no Igbo nation or Arewa nation or Yoruba nation that would allow what is happening in Nigeria now to happen to its nation. But we can allow ten times of it to happen to Nigeria as a nation which means we are deliberately destroying Nigeria as a nation.”

He pointed further that every Nigerian is noted as a bad specie but everybody is a good family man and a good tribal man, So, why don’t we just go and be good in our respective nations, why don’t we just give peace, development and sense a chance.

Dr Orire noted further that the situation presently is beyond politics but deliberate destruction of ourselves. According to him, “how can Ibo people be killing each other and nothing will happen, how can people be stealing trillions of naira and nothing will happen, how can people be stealing political positions and nothing will happen, it is just prolonging the evil day. I have been a politician and I have not even found my foot in politics because of the truth. I want to be known for saying the truth as it should be.”

The medical expert however acknowledged the potentials and ability of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when it comes to good governance and proffering suitable solutions to the nation’s problems.

He described the President as an activist, a very brilliant and seasoned politician, saying if Tinubu is called out of the presidency,  he would no doubt proffers solutions to the nation’s challenges. “He would do it in two minutes. I don’t know what happens now that he’s the president”. Dr. Orire said

While describing the death of his mother, the medical practitioner/ politician said the demise of his mother, Madam Dorcas Adekunbi Orire, is painful and it is normal to be sad notwithstanding the age.

“My mother was old. She was 107 years old . I felt the loss but I was most happy she lived a most beautiful life. She wasn’t sick. She didn’t lose her memory. There’s no loss of any function. When she was going to die, she just changed briefly for a day or two without pain and that’s how good people die”.

He said his mother was dutiful, very hardworking, selfless and could give her eyes without expecting anything back.

“That’s the most laudable part of it. She was not expecting you to come and help her because she helped you. Not even the children. If you didn’t give her money or anything, she would still pray for you the same way she would pray for the one that gives all the time. She was just good.

“My mother was a bank of information. Her memory is beyond physical. Even though she didn’t go to school, she was the one teaching my children a multiplication table. She would understand all the English you’re speaking but she may not be able to respond. She was just very sensitive, perceptive, the woman was good”. He concluded.
