The declaration of Gov. Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti as the 2024 best Governor of the year in Nigeria in area of Community Development has been described as most appropriate reward for his excellent performance in virtually all areas of human endeavors in the state, since assuming office.
Chairman of Ayede Local Council Development Area, Ajayi Aderemi Samuel made the assertion in a statement issued out to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.
While joining other well wishers in congratulating the governor on the attainment, Samuel said there was no way the governor could have been honoured less, judging from the myriads of his radical development strides in transforming rural settings to to places of envy and also building more on existing infrastructures in urban settlements.
” It is my delight to heartily congratulate His Excellency, Mr Biodun Oyebanji on this well deserved award as the Governor of the Year in Community Development by the Independent Newspaper .
” The impressive performance if the hardworking governor in community development, which we can all verify, earned him this special award from a reputable media establishment .
” As a Local Government boss myself who is well aware of your selfless efforts at transforming Ekiti to her place of dreams, u can personally attest to the magnitude of your achievements that are visible in most towns and communities since assuming office, and i can also bear, so unequivocally, that this award is most timely andwell deserving”, he said.
The LCDA chairman said he was particularly pleased to note that the award, pointed to great works in the development of many communities in various ways, including provision of power supply to rural communities that had last seen electricity for decades, construction of rural roads, and provision of other facilities that have direct impact on Ekiti people.
He commended the community participation approach to governance that the governor was using, and its overall impact on government policies, as well as projects execution strategy.
Ajayi then advised the governor not to rest on his oars, by keeping up his good works for Ekiti people, and to see the award as impetus to do even more, in continually bringing dividends of democracy to all towns and communities across Ekiti State .
