Oyebanji’s Endorsement is Genuine, An Act of Appreciation, — Surveyor Abiodun Aluko

The former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman, BAO’s endorsement committee, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko has said that the endorsements from various organisations and individuals going on in Ekiti in support of the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for second term are being done genuinely and with good intentions.

Speaking with journalists in his home town in Ikere Ekiti during the week, the former Deputy Governor also affirmed that the various endorsements seeking the return of Oyebanji to office in 2026 are just gestures of appreciation and recognition of the various contributions of this present administration to the development and well-being of the people of the State and the various sectors and organizations.

He noted further that neither the government nor the state Governor had any hand or contribution in the endorsement programme. “To the best of my knowledge, the Government of Ekiti State and the Governor are not putting any dime in this endorsement, people are doing it willingly and genuinely on their own.

“But like I told you before, there are some things you do for selfish reasons. For instance, you are an SA or SSA to the Governor and your income at the end of the month is running to hundreds of thousand naira, would you want to loose that position?. You will want to do anything to ensure that the source of your bread is not cut off,” he said.

Aluko also said the Non Governmental Organisations are getting patronage from the State government prompting them to reciprocate the good gestures of Mr Governor with this various endorsements. In his words, “I am the patron of Nigeria All Farmers Association and I know what this government is doing for us, the  opportunities which we never had in the past.

“So if we now say we are supporting this government to continue because the government is doing well is it not because we are benefiting and we don’t want to loose the opportunity?, so, the endorsements are genuine and we on our own contribute money to do it.”

Surveyor Abiodun Aluko also appealed to the people of Ekiti State to give the Governor of the State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji the second chance to rule. He stated that the governor has good intentions and his developmental programmes are all over the State, he therefore  urged the people to encourage him, pray for him and cooperate with him to ensure that at the end of his eight years as governor, he would look back and say he left Ekiti better than he met it.

“We are seeing with our eyes what BAO is doing with the money coming to Ekiti.  He has spent two years plus, not even up to three years now. If he could do all these within the short period,  let’s give him an opportunity to run a second term.  He has that constitutional right”, said the former deputy governor.

While reiterating that the party has not foreclosed any other members to join the race, Surv. Aluko said no one has declared intention to run against the incumbent.

He said he is rest assured that no APC member can defeat Oyebanji in the primary election, also, noting that about fourteen members contested against former Governor Kayode Fayemi

He however enjoined the masses to support the governor to continue his good works, saying with him in 2026, Ekiti is in safe hands .
