The Executive Chairman of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof Femi Akinwumi has charged members of staff of the Board on the need to show appreciation to God for all his benefits in the outgoing year.
Prof. Akinwumi who gave the charge at a special Carol Service organized to mark the yuletide and end of the year said thanksgiving remains the heartbeat of God and the only thing that he would never reject from us if wholeheartedly given.
He stressed the reason for always appreciating God, adding that it is expedient to honour him with praises, particularly for giving us his only son for our redemption.
The SUBEB boss who could not hide his feelings was jubilant, dancing and praising God for keeping every member of staff alive to the end of the year in spite of the numerous challenges we encounter as a nation.
He also commended the State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji for prioritizing the workers’ welfare, noting that the implementation of the new minimum wage of N70’000.00 ahead of Christmas Celebrations was an evidence that the Governor had passion for the workers whom he urged to appreciate the gesture by being more committed and dedicated to duty.
Prof. Akinwumi advised the staff to be focused and aim at success as they are preparing for another year, adding that their best is yet to come only that they need to be determined, focused and dedicated in their quest for a brighter future.
While calling on them to use the festive period to reflect on the significance of Christmas, the SUBEB chairman urged for more prayers for Governor Oyebanji, asking them to continue to have faith and confidence in his administration as he assured that better days are waiting for the workers.
The occasion was also used to celebrate the retired Directors in the Board as gifts were presented in appreciation for their dedication and commitment to selfless service.
