SOTONYE TOBY FULTON HONOURED AT HOME

…with recognition as an  Amaopuorubo of Opobo Kingdom

His Royal Majesty, King Dr. Dadison Douglas Jaja, CFR, Jeki V, has conferred upon Sotonye Toby Fulton the prestigious award  of Amaopuorubo of Opobo Kingdom.

This remarkable title is a tribute to Sotonye, not only for her accomplishments but also as an acknowledgment of her strong connection to her roots and her unwavering commitment to her community. It affirms that Sotonye, a true “home girl,” has remained deeply loyal and engaged with the people of Opobo Kingdom.

The grand award  is special recognition at the discretion of the King for great  women and  men.  

The award   ceremony will take place on January 3rd, 2024, at the Palace of the Jaja of Opobo. This award  highlights the powerful truth behind the saying, “A prophet has no honour at home,” as Sotonye has truly been embraced and celebrated by her people. Many sort after the award but the king recognizes only those who truly deserves it. She is loved, revered, and now formally acknowledged in her ancestral homeland.

In addition to her recent honor in Opobo, by July 2024, she will be further celebrated as Yeye Gbadega of Osi Kingdom Akure, a title conferred by His Royal Majesty, Oba David Olajide Okunato, the Oniresi of Osi Kingdom Akure.
