
The Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman, Endorsement Committee, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, has appealed to the people of Ekiti State to come out in their numbers to reaffirm their support for the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on Monday, 28th July, 2025.
The Chairman made the appeal on Thursday, at a press conference organized ahead of the Statewide Endorsement Programme in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
Noting that the programme is a platform to consolidate on shared vision for sustained progress, and a call to unity, gratitude as well as continuity, Surveyor Aluko, called for decorum and orderliness, saying it’s a celebration of progress and unity, not an avenue for conflict or disorder.
“We therefore appeal to all and sundry to comply with security guidelines, maintain decorum, and support a peaceful, inclusive, and celebratory atmosphere throughout the endorsement process

“We trust in the good conduct of Ekiti people, known for their civility, maturity, and democratic ethos. Let us prove, once again, that Ekiti leads not only in intellect but in peaceful political expression. The former Deputy Governor appealed.
Stressing further, Aluko explained that all relevant stakeholders, community associations, artisan groups, youth and women groups, trade unions, and political blocs have been duly contacted and properly briefed on the ongoing unified endorsement programme.
Adding that adequate seating, signage, and grouping have been strategically arranged to accommodate every association and delegation without confusion as he pointed out that comprehensive security architecture is in place to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the event

Differentiating between the endorsement and political campaign, the Secretary of the endorsements Committee, and Commissioner for Lands and Housing in the State, Oladapo Karounwi, reiterated that the programme is just an expression of the fundamental rights of Ekiti people to say that they are affirming and pass a vote of confidence in the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, and his deputy, Chief (Mrs). Monisade Afuye.
“This is not the party affairs. We are not discussing political party, we are discussing Ekiti. The endorsements we have been witnessing since last year have been from various interest groups in the State.The Secretary stated.
Corroborating the Committee Chairman and Secretary’s explanation of the event, the Commissioner for Information in the State, Rt. Honourable Taiwo Olatunbosun remarked that, the endorsement programme is a call on both President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji by various groups and associations for them to continue the good things they are doing, and to ensure promotion of transparency and fiscal responsibility in governance. The programme is being financed by the people themselves, and not from the governor. Olatunbosun added.
